The Full Article I wrote for The WC Press Art Issue

This is the unedited article I wrote for The WC Press Art Issue:

I would like to feature The painting, Chanticleer Poppies -Path Of Life. This piece was done in oil on linen en plein air (painted outside on site) at Chanticleer in Wayne. Nearly all of my landscapes are completed outside because I am very inspired by nature and natural settings. I love color so much that flowers are totally irresistible to me either as a reference point for color or to use en scene in the context of the landscape. I love the color red and poppy flowers are utterly captivating. Chanticleer has flower beds that are so jam packed with color that it is like 4th of July fireworks going off in them. I was so pleased with this painting that I went back and did another 2 paintings of the poppies while they were still in bloom. One of my missions is to express the truth of God’s evidence in creation and when you paint natural subjects in person, that truth is undeniable. When you really observe over a period of time, the variety, lushness, beauty of design and color are beyond human comprehension.

New to Chester County, I first became aware of West Chester’s thriving arts community via Chester County Art Association. I entered a show there 3 years ago and since then they have constantly offered artists like me opportunities to exhibit and grow in their work. I have met some fabulous local professional artists through CCAA and they also encourage me to keep moving and growing. CCAA’s influence as an art hub for West Chester cannot be underestimated. I hope that as they expand, West Chester residents will make every effort to keep checking out the great things that happen there. Since then I have exhibited in countless plein air events and exhibits. This month I am featured at Z Gallery on Gay Street, then in August I will be featured at Found’s which is starting to be a new local art venue.  Last year I did a painting at D’Ascenzo’s Gelato which the owners purchased and proudly hang there amidst all the beautiful gelato colors and fragrances for a multi- sensory experience of my art. In essence, the more love I show to West Chester, the more it loves me back for which I am grateful.
